Rock the Shocker by Lando Coffy

OrLando Antonio Coffy is an 18 year old dancer/choreographer originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. He moved to Houston, Texas at the young age of 7 and now considers Houston his home. Lando began dancing in the 7th grade at the age of 13 participating in dance styles of the ballroom genre, such as Jive and Salsa. Once immersed in the overwhelming world of high school, he found his new passion to be the arts of the underground Hip-Hop society. He began to take classes at the local and well-known dance studio, Marvelous Motion. There he danced with the Marvelous Motion dance crew and ABDC 2s runner-up crew, SoReal Cru. Lando was also apart of his high school dance team, Inertia Dance Co., who are a nationally ranked dance company consisting of a mixture of break-dance and contemporary styles. Later emerging from that very high school dance program came the B-Boy group known as HIStory. He has performed with HIStory, who were also featured on ABDC 2, at local events and showcases of the arts. Recently, Lando has performed with SoReal Cru at Body Rock 09 in San Diego, California, and despite the fact they didnt place, was grateful for the experience. Now graduated from high school, Lando is ready to take on his personal goal of becoming a well-rounded dancer/choreographer, respected by not only the Houston dance community, but by many others as well. He plans to pursue dance as his career and considers it not only his passion, but a job of which he could never grow tired.
